In Uttar Pradesh, SP wrested the pole position from BJP after winning 37 out of the 80 seats in the state. BJP's tally fell to 33 from 62 in 2019.

MVA Trumps Mahayuti In Maha Battle

A splintered state due to the vertical split in Shiv Sena and NCP gave a resounding verdict in favour of the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi. INDIA bloc won 30 out of 48 seats while BJP-led Mahayuti clinched 17.

Uddhav, Sharad Clinch Factional Fight

Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena (UBT) and Sharad Pawar's NCP (SC) outperformed their rival factions, settling the 'real Sena & real NCP' debate - at least in the public eye. The Congress, too, made a handsome comeback by winning 13 seats and emerging as the single-largest party in the state.

Didi Deflates BJP In Bengal

Mamata magic pushed aside a lacklustre BJP in West Bengal, defying all expectations of pollsters. TMC cornered 29 out of the 42 seats in the state, while BJP suffered a loss of 6 seats and ended up winning just 12 constituencies. TMC's focus on women and minorities helped the party make a comeback in its home turf.

Nitish Remains Towering Figure In Bihar

Nitish Kumar and his JD(U) managed to hold the fort in Bihar, winning 14 out of the 40 seats. Chirag Paswan's LJP (RV) also won 5 seats. Nitish's decent governance record, effective coalition-building efforts and Modi's 'jungle raj' callbacks about RJD rule may have worked for NDA

INDIA's Clean Sweep In Tamil Nadu

MK Stalin's DMK reigned supreme for the second Lok Sabha election in a row, with INDIA bloc making a clean sweep in Tamil Nadu. It won 39 out 39 seats. Stalin's welfare push, the alliance's regional and caste dynamics as well as AIADMK's downslide helped INDIA bloc score big in the key southern state.

Naidu Takes Centre Stage After Andhra Success

TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu made a roaring return to the frontlines of Indian politics with his party dominating both the Lok Sabha and assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh. Naidu's TDP won 16 out of 25 states in the state and now holds key to a stable NDA government at the Centre with BJP failing to get a majority.
