Before attempting to machine wash a blanket, it’s crucial to check the care label. Only machine-washable blankets should be subjected to this method.
Match the weight of the blanket with the capacity of the washing machine. If the machine has a 7 kg capacity, the blanket should ideally weigh 7 kg or less.
Opt for a gentle washing setting to prevent damage to the fabric. This setting might be labelled differently on various machines.
During the wash, periodically turn the blanket to ensure even washing and prevent it from staying in one place or rolling around.
After washing, activate the spinner and dry option to remove excess water. This step significantly reduces drying time.
When washing blankets in the machine, avoid using hot water, as it can adversely affect the fabric, especially the fur on some blankets.
