How to Earn People's Respect

Express yourself with confidence

This doesn’t mean you start speaking loudly. Expressing yourself with confidence means that you should be clear and not be feared. You should also make eye-contact with the people while talking and sum up your points in a nutshell.

Talk carefully

Don’t get infuriated if someone is making a point opposite to your belief. Instead, try to listen to them with all the attention. You can also pose questions regarding the facts you couldn’t understand from his conversation.

Fulfil the promises

A person immediately receives respect from all the quarters when he or she accomplishes the promises made to someone. This also means that you will fulfil the commitments made to someone despite facing all the adverse circumstances.

Respect for other people

Respecting your seniors, colleagues, and juniors should always be the topmost priority for anyone. This earns you a place amongst the most professional employees in a company. This, however, doesn’t mean that you have to endure someone’s unethical behaviour.

Be accountable for your mistakes

Accept your mistakes and don’t try to shift the onus of them to other people. Only you are responsible for your wrongdoings, not your family members, juniors, or anyone else.

Body language

Mind your body language while talking to the other person. Stand upright and heartily greet your colleagues. Never talk while crossing your arms. It is because this communicates rejection and disinterest.
