How to Grow Carrots in a Pot at Home

Producer: Mehak Pal Editor: Nisha Dubey

Most people think carrots can be grown in long rows on the ground in the garden, but they can be grown in pots too.

Here is an easy step-by-step guide to grow carrots in pots at home.

Step 1 Search for a bright sunlight spot at your home. It can be your balcony area or window.

Step 2 Take a round or rectangular pot with a minimum depth of 1 foot.

Step 3 Fill the pot with well-drained potting soil and mix with added peat moss. Do not use garden or landscape soil to grow carrots.

Step 4 Now, sow seeds in the pot. Add 3 to 4 seeds in one pot.

Step 5 Firm the soil gently after covering the seeds and water them immediately.

Step 6 After 8 to 10 days, leave only one seedling per spot.

Step 7 In the winter season,  carrots can be harvested within 60 to 70 days of seed sowing.
