Hyderabadi biryani is one of the most popular dishes across the country, and even abroad. Here's a step-by-step guide to prepare it at home.

Ingredients

01 Meat 1 kg

02 Salt (According to taste)

03 Ginger-garlic paste 1 tbsp

04 Red chilli paste 1 tbsp

05 Green chilli paste (sauteed brown onions to taste) 1 tbsp

06 Cardamom powder 1/2 tbsp

07 Cinnamon sticks 2

08 Cumin seeds 1 tbsp

09 Cloves 4

10 Mace (a pinch)

12 Lemon juice 2 tbsp

14 Clarified butter 4 tbsp

13 Curd 250 gm

15 Semi-cooked rice 750 gm

16 Saffron strand 1 tsp

11 Mint leaves (According to taste)

17 Water 1/2 cup

18 Oil 1/2 cup

Ingredients for garnishing

01 Eggs, boiled

02 Carrots, sliced

03 Cucumbers, sliced

Clean the meat. Now in a pan, add meat, salt, ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder, green chilli paste, sauteed brown onions, cardamom powder, cinnamon, cumin seeds, cloves, mace, mint leaves and lemon juice.

Mix all of these ingredients thoroughly together.

Step 2

Add curd, clarified butter, semi-cooked rice, saffron, water and oil. Mix it well.

Step 3

Now apply sticky dough on the sides of the pan.

Step 4

Cover it with a lid and cook for about 25 minutes.

Your Hyderabadi biryani is ready to eat. Garnish it with boiled eggs, sliced carrots, and cucumbers, and serve hot.
