How to Make Masala Dosa At Home?

Masala Dosa is a popular South Indian dish that can be served in any course of food. Here's a look at an easy recipe to make Masala Dosa at home.

Ingredients Rice (Parboiled) - 2 cup Black gram (split and husked) - 1/2 cup Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tsp Salt - 2 tsp Oil (for cooking dosa)

Ingredients for dosa's masala Potatoes (boiled, peeled and cubed) - 500 gm Onion (sliced) - 1.5 cup Green chillies (chopped) Oil - 2 tbsp Mustard seeds - 1 tsp Curry leaves - 7 Salt - 2 tsp Turmeric (powder) - 1/2 tsp Water - 1/2 cup

Step 1 Wash and soak rice in one container and the dal and fenugreek seeds in another for 5 to 6 hours or overnight.

Step 2 Blend dal to a smooth consistency. After that grind rice too and mix two batters.

Step 6 Now, add salt and enough water to make it into a dropping consistency. Leave to ferment overnight or more depending on the weather.

Step 7 Prepare the dosa's filling by heating a pan and adding mustard seeds, onions, curry leaves, and green chillies and sauteing it on a high flame.

Step 8 Add salt, turmeric, and mashed potatoes to it. Add some water and let it simmer for 5 minutes.

Step 9 Now, heat a tawa and brush oil over it. Splash a little water over it and pour batter onto it, spreading it thin with a circular motion.

Step 10 After spreading the batter evenly, lower the heat and dribble some oil around the edges of the dosa.

Step 11 When the edges start browning a bit, pass a flat spoon under it to ease the dosa off the pan. Now, put the desired filling in the center and fold the two edges over.

Step 12 Serve it with sambar or chutney.
