One-pot Chicken Biryani

Here is an easy and quick recipe to make one-pot chicken biryani at home.

Rice (soaked) 1 cup Chicken 500 gm Coriander Leaves 1 tbsp Curd 3 tbsp Turmeric Powder 1 tsp Roasted Cumin Powder 1 tsp Black Pepper Powder 1 tsp Oil 3 tbsp Cumin Seeds 1 tbsp Bay Leaves 2

Cinnamon Sticks 1 Star Anise 1 Black Cardamom 1 Green Cardamoms 2 Cloves 2

Ginger- Garlic (chopped) 3 tbsp Onions (chopped) 2 Tomatoes (chopped) 2 Green Chillies (chopped) 5 Red Chilli Powder 1 tbsp Garam Masala Powder 1 tbsp Coriander Powder 1 tbsp Black Pepper Powder (roasted) 1tbsp Salt (as per taste) Water (as required)

Step 1

Marinate the chicken in curd, coriander leaves, turmeric powder, cumin powder, pepper powder and salt.

Let it marinate for 30 minutes.

Place a pressure cooker on low flame, and add oil, cumin seeds, bay leaves, cinnamon, anise, cardamom, cloves, ginger-garlic and chopped onions to it.

Once the onion loses colour, add the marinated chicken and mix well. Let it cook for 10 minutes.

Now, add tomatoes, green chillies and stir. Once the tomatoes are mushy, add red chilli powder, garam masala powder, coriander powder, and black pepper.

Add the soaked rice to the pressure cooker and pour in water.

Step 7

Seal the pressure cooker and let the biryani cook for 2 whistles.

After 2 whistles, release the pressure and serve the biryani hot.
