Sooji Cheela is a quick and easy dish to have for breakfast. Here's a step-by-step guide to make it at home.
Ingredients Sooji - 1 cup Curd - 1/2 cup Onion, finely chopped - 1 Capsicum, finely chopped - 1 Carrot, grated - 1 Green Chilli, finely chopped - 1 Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp Coriander leaves - 1/4 cup Salt (According to the taste) Oil (for cooking) Water (as required)
Ingredients for garnishing Pistas (peeled and sliced) - 1 tbsp Almonds (peeled and sliced) - 1 tbsp rabri (no sugar just condensed milk cooked for a while)
Step 1 Take a bowl and mix sooji and curd to form the cheela batter. Make sure the batter is consistent, thick, and a little coarse.
Step 2 Now, add the vegetables and mix again. Make sure the vegetables are thinly chopped or diced so that the batter does not become heavy. Add a little water if required.
Step 3 Mix in the ginger-garlic paste, green chilli, red chilli powder, and salt. Sprinkle a pinch of coriander leaves and let the batter rest for 15-20 minutes.
Step 4 Now, heat a non-stick tawa and brush it lightly with oil. Once the oil starts to sputter, spread the batter evenly on the tawa.
Step 5 When the cheela turns white from the top and starts to lift off the tawa, gently flip it and cook on the other side. Keep pressing so that it cooks evenly.
Step 6 Remove from the tawa and serve with green chutney or any other dip of choice.
