– 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon – 1 tablespoon ground ginger – 1 tablespoon ground cardamom – 1 teaspoon ground cloves – 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg – 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice – 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper (for a hint of spiciness)
Combine ground cinnamon, ground ginger, ground cardamom, ground cloves, ground nutmeg, ground allspice and ground black pepper in a bowl.
Use a spoon or whisk to blend the spices thoroughly. Make sure there are no clumps and that the mixture is evenly distributed.
Taste the spice mix to see if it suits your preferences. If you want it spicier, add a bit more black pepper or ginger.
If you prefer a sweeter spice mix for your chai, add more cinnamon.
Transfer the spice mix to an airtight container, like a glass jar or a spice container with a secure lid.
Keep your chai spice mix away from direct sunlight and moisture, which can affect the quality of the spices.
