T20 World Cup 2024: USA gets prime matches as ICC unveils schedule
The ICC on Friday unveiled the schedule for the T20 World Cup that is set to take place in the West Indies and USA in June this year
The blockbuster meeting between India and Pakistan is set to take place on 9 June in New York City, a.k.a. the ‘Big Apple’
NYC is set to host India’s first three matches, against Ireland and USA besides Pakistan, along with a number of other key group stage fixtures
India’s final group match will be against Canada on 15 June at Lauderhill near the city of Miami, Florida
Dallas is the third American city that will be hosting matches, including the opening fixture between USA and Canada on 1 June
West Indies will get its fair share, hosting the Super 8s as well as the knockouts with the semis at Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago
The Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados will host the final, as it did in the 2007 ICC World Cup and the 2010 World T20
Defending champions England, who won the title for the second time in Australia in 2022, begin their campaign against Scotland on 4 June in Barbados
As for Pakistan, who lost the final in Melbourne on 13 November, 2022, they start their campaign against the USA in Dallas on 6 June
