A volcanic eruption in southwestern Iceland appears to have subsided, though scientists are warning that the area may experience further eruptions in the coming months.

The eruption began at about 6 am local time on Feb 8 sending jets of lava into the sky, triggering evacuation of the popular Blue Lagoon geothermal spa and cutting heat and hot water to thousands of people.
