IMD issues yellow alert as rain lashes in Mumbai

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on July 15 issued a yellow alert for Mumbai as rain lashes the coastal city.

Mumbai has received 200mm of rain above normal, prompting expectations of an orange alert by July 16.

Ratnagiri has been placed under a red alert, while Satara and Pune are on orange alert by the weather agency.

IMD has issued a red alert for the entire West coast for the next four days.

The affected regions include Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Central Maharashtra, and coastal Karnataka.

Additionally, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, south Chhattisgarh, and Andhra Pradesh are under an orange alert as per IMD.
