Producer:  Siddarth Sriram

The day started off where India had left, with Jaiswal looking to continue his 'Jasiball' approach and take it to the Englishmen.

But in an unxpected turn of events, it was talisman batter Joe Root, who wove maigc with the ball, to dismiss Jaiswal in his first over and instantly apply pressure on the Indians.

Then, dubutant Hartley who had a rough spell in the first day struck to remove Shubman Gill as well, to put India in a spot of bother.

None of this fazed KL Rahul, who went about business as usual, nothcing up runs at ease and steadying the Indian innings at the other end.

Yet another dubutant in Rehan Ahmed then got his scalp as he picked off Shreyas Iyer for 35.

Then in came Ravindra Jadeja to aid Rahul, and the duo built a fifty partnership to keep on adding more to India's lead.

KL Rahul was in fine form as he slashed and played his way to another fantastic fifty, continuing his impressive run-of-form for India with the bat.

Hartley then came in with the dagger again, as he dismissed Rahul, who looked well ser for a century, at 86 runs to break the blooming partnership.

India were in no mood to be bothered as Srikar Bharat tagged aong with Jadeja to once again build yet another fifty partnership and take India's lead to triple digits.

Jadejal, who shone with the ball yesterday, took his time with the bat and knocked the English bowlers all over the park to score a fifty.

Despite losing Bharat and R Ashwin who came in next in quick succession, India's long tail was at full display as Axar Patel came out to start piing on more misery onto the England side.

India ended the day in dominant fashion, mustering a 175-run lead, with Jadeja working his magic with the bat as he stands at 81* as of now.
