Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra highlights KL Rahul's injury woes, citing them as the major setback in his international career.
Rahul's absence from the 2nd Test vs England in Vizag comes after he complained of right quadriceps pain, following a half-century in the 1st Test.
Injury concerns have plagued Rahul's cricket venture in recent times, after sustaining a thigh injury during the 2023 Indian Premier League.
Chopra emphasizes the unfortunate timing of Rahul's injuries, hindering his progress just when he seems to regain form and momentum.
“When you feel everything is gone fine – injury, dengue or COVID – something or the other goes wrong with him. I feel Rahu is sitting in his kundali,” Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube video about Rahul.
Rahul played an impressive knock of 86 runs in the first innings vs England, but he failed to replicate the same in the second innings as India lost the match.
Chopra commends KL Rahul's adeptness at playing the sweep shot as, “There are very few people in our team who play the sweep,” he said.
The absence of Rahul in the upcoming match is a notable setback for the team, particularly given his versatile batting techniques.
Despite the setback, his resilience and talent remain evident, and his return to the squad after recovery will be eagerly awaited.
