India Clinch Historic 5 Medals in Day 6 of Paris Paralympics 2024

The India contingent clinched five medals on Tuesday (Sep 3) to record their best- ever medal haul in the Paralympics.

They won one in a sprint event, two in men's high jump, and two in javelin throw on day 6 of the quadrennial showpiece.

Indian sprinter Deepthi Jeevanji bagged a bronze medal in the women's 400m T20 final with a time of 55.82 seconds.

In the men's javelin throw F46 final, Ajeet Singh won silver with a best effort of 65.62m at the Stade de France.

Sundar Gurjar clinched a bronze medal in the men's javelin throw F46 final with his best effort of 64.96m on Tuesday.

Sharad Kumar clinched a silver medal in men’s high jump T63, with his best effort of 1.88m at the Paris Paralympics.

Mariyappan Thangavelu secured a bronze medal in the same event with his best effort of 1.85m.

India's previous best was 19 medals at the Tokyo Paralympics 2020, which they bettered at the ongoing Paris Paralympics.
