Hours before the World Cup cricket final between mighty India and five-time champions Australia, thousands of cricket fans gathered outside the Narendra Modi Stadium in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad on Sunday.

The much-awaited match between India and Australia will begin at 2 pm. Meanwhile, a tight security arrangement has been put in place in the vicinity of the stadium to avert any untoward incident during the final match

In a video, which has gone viral on social media, a huge crowd eager for the shining trophy to come “home” can be seen outside the massive stadium in Motera in Ahmedabad as they cheer for the team India.

The cricket fans, wearing India’s blue jerseys and some carrying Indian flags, were seen standing outside the stadium

The country of 140 crore people would be glued to their TV screens as they hope that the Rohit Sharma-led Men in Blue would lift the coveted trophy for the third time in its cricketing history

The fans across the country have extended their wishes to the Men in Blue while some also performed special havan praying for the success of the Indian side in the final match.

The Indian team breezed through the final with a victory over New Zealand, having won all 10 matches in the tournament so far. The summit clash pits the Men in Blue against record champions Australia in a repeat of the 2003 final.
