Indian hotel among world's best. Which are the others on the list?

Sujan Jawai, India Only one Indian hotel, Sujan Jawai, has been named in the Top 50 hotels in the world. Located in Rajasthan, this hotel offers a luxurious stay at the wilderness retreat. It is ranked 43rd on the list.

Capella Bangkok, Thailand The first position has been secured by Capella Bangkok. This is a five-star hotel that overlooks the Chao Phraya River. It gives a perfect mix of relaxation and urban living. 

Passalacqua, Italy Securing the second position on the list is Passalacqua Hotel in Italy's Lake Como. The hotel is set within spectacular terraced gardens and has just 24 rooms.

Aman Tokyo, Japan Japan's Aman Tokyo has secured the seventh position. The transition from city to escapism is instantaneous upon arrival at the airy 33rd-floor lobby, with its cathedral-high ceiling of crafted white washi paper. 

Claridge's, UK At the 11th position is Claridge's in London. This is a place frequented by celebrities and politicians. This place has a new Japanese-inspired 7,000 sq ft spa, a 25 m swimming pool and a gym.  

The Lana, UAE At the 23rd position is The Lana which opened in Dubai in 2024. It offers residents and travellers a quieter place than the city's flash and bling. The rooms offer views of the Marasi Bay Marina and the Downtown Skyline.

Four Seasons, Spain  On the 31st position is the Four Seasons Madrid. Opened in 2020, this was one of the seven landmark buildings that were restored. The hotel approaches its design aesthetic with devotion with over 1,500 sculptures, photographs and installations. 

Le Bristol, France The hotel was opened in 1925 in Paris and attracted the likes of Coco Chanel, Pablo Picasso, Piet Mondrian and Salvador Dali among others. The hotel has 190 rooms and suites that are arranged across the main building and Matignon wing. This has secured the 40th position on the list. 

The Connaught, England The hotel has secured the 46th position on the list. Built in 1897 in Mayfair as The Coburg, it was renamed in 1917. The Connaught remains a bastion of refined elegance in London’s crowded luxury hotel scene.

Kokomo Private Island, Yaukuve Levu Island On the 50th position is the Kokomo Private Island, which is a family-run resort. This is a remote, refined resort that sprawls over 140 lush acres and houses 21 open-plan villas to give guests a taste of island life.
