The all-new Meerut metro trains, complete with upscale passenger facilities, have been unveiled.
The Meerut Metro has been dubbed as India’s ‘fastest’ metro service.
These 100% ‘Make in India’ metro trains are operated by NCRTC.
The exterior of the train is painted neon green, blue and orange.
They will have cushioned 2×2 seats and a longitudinal seating layout for a comfortable travel.
The Meerut Metro has space for over 700 passengers, 173 of whom can sit.
The coaches come with luggage racks, USB charging ports, grab handles, CCTV cameras and dynamic route maps.
It incorporates energy-saving tech like push-button doors, selective door openers and regenerative braking system.
The trains include alarms, talk-back systems, fire extinguishers and wheelchair-accessible seating.
The Meerut Metro route has 13 stops and will cover a distance of 23 kilometres in 30 minutes.
