India have won a record number of medals at the Paralympic Games in Paris, their overall tally standing at 27 at the end of competitions on Friday, 6 September

India have also broken their record for most gold medals in a single edition of the Paralympics, winning six of them in Paris which we take a look at in greater detail in the following slides

Avani Lekhara was the first Indian gold medallist at the Paris Paralympics, winning the women's 10m air rifle SH1 final with a score of 228.7

Avani was followed by shuttler Nitesh Kumar, who defeated Britain's Daniel Bethell to win the men's singles SH3 category final

Sumit Antil then retained his men's javelin throw F64 gold in dominant fashion, breaking the Paralympic record with a 70.59m throw

Harvinder Singh won the men's individual recurve open event to become the first Indian archer to win gold in the Paralympics

Dharambir won gold in men's club throw F51 category on the same day as Harvinder, with Pranav Soorma winning silver in the event to complete a historic Indian one-two on the podium

Praveen Kumar won India's latest gold medal in the Paris Paralympics, winning the men's high jump T64 final with a leap of 2.08 metres
