India’s Praveen Kumar Produces Record-Breaking Performance At Paris Paralympics

Praveen Kumar claimed a win in the high jump T64 class at the Paris 2024 Paralympics.

At the second spot, was the USA’s Derek Loccident (2.06 m).

Uzbekistan’s Temurbek Giyazov (2.03 m) earned the third position.

Praveen secured the victory with an Asian record.

The para-athlete cleared 2.08m in the final to earn his second Paralympic medal.

The 21-year-old had scripted another Asian record three years back in Tokyo.

Back then, he had won a silver medal.

Praveen’s epic performance in Paris helped India to move to a medal tally of 26.

This was also the most number of gold medals India has ever won at an edition of the Paralympics.

India's previous best tally came in Tokyo 2020.
