India's top moments from Day 5 of Paris Paralympics

It rained medals for the Indian contingent on Monday, with the nation winning eight medals across three different sports

The highlight of the day was Sumit Antil smashing the Paralympic record twice en route to winning a second consecutive gold in dominant fashion

Also winning gold on Monday was para-shuttler Nitesh Kumar, who defeated Britain's Daniel Bethell in the men's singles SL3 final

Earlier in the day, Yogesh Kathuniya had won silver in the men's discus throw F56 category, his second on the trot at the Paralympics

Also winning a second consecutive Paralympic silver was para-shuttler Suhas Yathiraj, who lost to France's Lucas Mazur in a rematch of the Tokyo 2020 final

The badminton women's singles SU5 category, meanwhile, had two Indians on the podium, with Thulasimathi Murugesan and Manisha Ramadass winning silver and bronze respectively

Sheetal Devi and Rakesh Kumar won bronze in the mixed team compound open section to ensure India won at least one archery medal at the Paris Paralympics

Nithya Sre Sumathy Sivan won bronze in the women's SH6 category late on Monday to ensure the Indian badminton team signed off with five medals in the Paris Paralympics

Thanks to the flurry of medals on Monday, India currently are 15th on the Paris Paralympics medal table with 15 medals — three gold, five silver and seven bronze
