The 141st International Olympic Committee (IOC) session is set to take place in Mumbai from October 15-17, marking the return of the session to India after 4 decades since New Delhi hosted it in 1983.

An IOC Executive Board meeting was scheduled on October 12 and 13, with the Opening Ceremony planned for October 14 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai's Bandra-Kurla Complex.

The Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) will be the venue for the Opening Ceremony.

The IOC Session is a vital annual meeting where decisions regarding host cities, sports and federations, and changes in the Olympic Charter are discussed and decided upon.

The session will gather over 600 members of the sporting world's elite, along with global media representatives from more than 100 nations, collectively representing over 50 sports.

Mumbai secured the hosting rights after Nita Ambani led a compelling pitch at the 139th IOC session in Beijing, receiving 99% of the votes in its favor.

This session aligns with India's aspirations to host the Youth Olympics and the Olympic Games in the future.

Over 600 attendees, including 99 voting members and 43 honorary members from various sports, will participate in the IOC session - a momentous occasion for India and international sports.
