Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) posted a huge 98-run win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Lucknow's Ekana Sports City on Sunday (May 7).
This win propelled KKR to 16 points, placing them atop the standings due to their superior Net Run Rate, overtaking RR.
KKR put up a massive total of 235 runs for the loss of six wickets, thanks to Sunil Narine’s 81-run knock of just 31 balls.
Sunil Narine led from the front to score a blistering knock of 81 helping Kolkata set a record target at LSG’s home ground.
LSG had moments where they came back in the game but Mohsin Khan’s injury forced the side to use their concussion sub to bring in Yudhvir Singh.
Afghan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq registered a three-wicket haul, picking up big-hitters like Andre Russell (12) and Rinku Singh (16).
As for LSG's batting, there wasn't any stable partnership formed. Marcus Stoinis' 36 off 21 and KL Rahul's 25 off 21 were the highest individual scores.
