IPL auction dates and venue announced

It has been reported that the IPL Player Auction ahead of the 2024 season will be held on 19 December in Dubai 

This will mark the first-ever time that the IPL auction is taking place outside India 

The deadline for player retention ahead of IPL 2024 has been extended till 26 November 

West Indies' Romario Shepherd became the first player to be traded in the ongoing window, after MI traded him in from LSG

CSK are the defending champions of the IPL, having beaten GT in the final in May this year

During the IPL 2023 auction in Kochi, Sam Curran had become the costliest buy in IPL hostory after PBKS bought him for Rs 18.50 crore 

The salary cap will be at Rs 100 crore for all 10 teams, as was reported earlier 

Away from the auction, Saudi Arabia have expressed interest in buying a multibillion-dollar stake in the IPL
