Kolkata Knight Riders (with 19 points) have qualified for the playoffs. KKR will now finish the IPL league stages either as the table toppers or second-placed team thus ensuring two chances to make it to the final.
Rajasthan Royals (with 19 points) have also assured of a playoff spot with LSG's loss against DC. With 2 more games remaining, RR will try for a top-two finish to seal their spot in Qualifier 1.
If Chennai Super Kings manage a win over RCB on Saturday, SRH is the only team that can push CSK down the points table, but not below the 4th place as they'll have 16 points.
Sunrisers Hyderabad need to win one of their two games to seal the third playoff spot. If SRH lose both games, and CSK beat RCB or vice-versa, SRH will be vulnerable as the final playoff spot could be decided on NRR.
Delhi Capitals finished on 14 points. They can only hope for RCB's loss to CSK, so that RCB do surpass them and then hope SRH to lose both their games by big margins that it pushes their NRR below DC’s.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru would need to beat CSK by more than 18 runs (if they score 200) in their final match, to get their NRR over CSK’s. Then, if SRH do not cross 14 points, both RCB and CSK can qualify.
With one game remaining, Lucknow Super Giants can get only to 14 points. Due to LSG's poor NRR it is unlikely that they will be able to surpass DC, RCB, CSK, and SRH – all of whom could also end on 14 points.
Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, and Gujarat Titans are officially out of the IPL 2024 playoff race, standing at 9th, 10th, and 8th spots in the points table, respectively.
