Iran on Saturday April 13 fired 330 missiles and drones at Israel in retaliation for an alleged Israeli attack on an Iranian diplomatic mission in Damascus on April 1, resulting in casualties including two senior commanders.

Israel Defence Forces (IDF) spokesperson said that 99% of the roughly 330 missiles and drones launched by Iran were intercepted, but that the threat is not over.

Israel's defence system with assistance from the US and Britain is credited with preventing serious damage or casualties. Take a look at Israel's multilayered air-defence system:

This system developed with the US aims to intercept long-range missiles, including those Iran claimed to have launched on Saturday.

The Arrow

Developed with the US, the David's Sling is meant to intercept medium-range missiles, such as those possessed by Hezbollah in Lebanon.

David's Sling

This US-made system, dating back to the First Gulf War in 1991, is the oldest in Israel's missile defense arsenal. Originally used to intercept Scud missiles from Iraq, it is now used to target aircraft, including drones.

Patriot

This Israeli-developed system, supported by the US, excels at intercepting short-range rockets with a claimed success rate of over 90%.

Iron Dome

Israel is creating a new laser-based interception system for incoming threats, touted as a game changer for its cost-effectiveness compared to current systems. However, it remains non-operational for now.
