The Israeli embassy in India advised Israeli tourists on Monday, June 3, to consider visiting beaches in India. The recommendation came after the Maldives government announced a ban on Israelis entering the Indian Ocean archipelago.
In a post on social media platform X, the embassy said, “Since the Maldives is no longer welcoming Israelis, here are some beautiful and amazing Indian beaches where Israeli tourists are warmly welcomed and treated with utmost hospitality”. Here are the places it recommended:
India's smallest Union Territory, Lakshadweep is a tropical paradise in the Arabian Sea known for its stunning beaches, vibrant coral reefs, and rich marine biodiversity.
Andaman and Nicobar Islands offers a blend of natural beauty and cultural diversity. With lush forests, pristine beaches, and unique indigenous tribes, it's a haven for adventurers.
Goa, a coastal state in India, is renowned for its picturesque beaches, vibrant nightlife, and rich Portuguese heritage. It's a popular destination for both relaxation and adventure seekers.
Kerala, known as "God's Own Country, is popular for its serene backwaters, lush greenery, vibrant culture, and delicious cuisine, attracting tourists from around the world.
The Maldivian government, amid mounting public anger in the country over the devastating attacks by Israeli forces on Gaza, on June 2 decided to amend laws to ban Israeli passport holders from entering the nation.
