James Anderson announced on social media that he will play his last international Test against West Indies in July this year. Here's a look back at the test career highlights of England's red-ball great.
The England pacer made his Test debut in 2003 against Zimbabwe at Lord's, and recorded an impressive figure of 5/73, that too with a hat-trick.
Anderson scripted history by dismissing Kuldeep Yadav, as he was caught behind by Ben Foakes on Day 3 of the 5th Ind vs Eng Test in Dharamshala.
He is the first seamer in Test history to reach 600 wickets. Anderson dismissed Azhar Ali on Day 5 of the 3rd Eng vs Pak Test in 2020 to achieve that feat.
With the 700 wickets taken in 187 matches, he became the third-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket history.
He has 32 five-wicket hauls to his name in Tests- the second-most by a pacer after Sir Richard Hadlee (36).
His 5-85 and 5-73 against Australia in 2013 in Nottingham helped England secure victory in the 1st Ashes Test.
During India'a 2018 tour of England, they were whitewashed by Anderson's 5-20 and 4-23 at Lord's.
He registered one of his career-best figures of 7-43 against New Zealand in the 3rd Test at Trent Bridge in 2008.
