Karnataka elections results are set to be declared on Saturday. The counting of votes began today, at 8 am.

Key leaders include Chief Minister Basavraj Bommai, Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar, former CM Siddaramaiah, ex-BJP and now Congress leaders Jagadish Shettar and Laxaman Savadi.

Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah won the Karnataka Assembly election from Varuna assembly constituency.

Laxman Sangappa Savadi, who was contesting the election as a Congress candidate, won the Athani seat with 1,31,404 votes.

Jagadish Shettar, who contested on a Congress ticket, was defeated in the Hubballi-Dharwad (Central) seat by a margin of 34,289 votes.
