Katie Ledecky Ties US Swimming Greats’ All-Time Olympic Medal Haul

The US swimming star Katie Ledecky claimed a gold medal at the Paris Olympics.

She won the 1,500m freestyle event to secure her 12th Olympic medal.

Ledecky remains undefeated at the distance in her professional career.

She clocked 15 minutes and 30.02 seconds to win the medal.

Ledecky broke her own Olympic record at the Paris Olympics.

The 27-year-old’s impressive feat also saw her tie an impressive landmark.

Ledecky matched the all-time tally for most medals won by an American female swimmer.

She joined the company of Jenny Thompson, Dara Torres and Natalie Coughlin. 

Anastasiya Kirpichnikova finished second behind Ledecky with 15:40.35.

Germany’s Isabel Gose bagged the bronze medal with a time of 15:41.16.
