Kawasaki’s Ninja 500 has been launched in India at ₹5.24 lakh, same as the Ninja 400.
The Ninja 400 is currently offered with a ₹40,000 discount.
The Ninja 500 is expected to replace the Ninja 400 in India.
The Ninja 500 features a new liquid-cooled, 451cc, parallel-twin engine.
The engine delivers 45hp at 9,000rpm and 42.6Nm at 6,000rpm.
At 171kg, the Ninja 500 is heavier than the Ninja 400 and Yamaha R3, but lighter than the Aprilia RS 457 and KTM RC 390.
The Ninja 500 has a seat height of 785mm, making it accessible for shorter riders.
The Ninja 500 sports a new face, similar to the new-age Kawasaki sport bikes.
The launched model in India is the standard model, not the up-spec SE.
The Ninja 500 is priced higher than its primary rivals - Yamaha R3, Aprilia RS 457, and KTM RC 390.
