Keep winter dehydration at bay with these 5 tips

With winter upon us, our water intake may go down we might not even realise it. Usually the consumption of water is less during winter than as compared to summer.

We might not feel thirsty as often or sweat that much, but our body loses fluids nonetheless. So, here are a few tips to keep dehydration at bay.

Set reminders for having water: Nowadays, we can easily set reminders on our phones for drinking ample water throughout the day.

Consume fresh fruits and vegetables: Including fluid-filled fruits and vegetables in your diet may help combat dehydration in winter.

Avoid alcohol: Alcohol leads to dehydration and its consumption should be limited to prevent loss of fluids in the cold months.

Always carry a water bottle: Keeping a water bottle with you serves as a reminder to sip it at regular intervals. You can also jazz up the water by adding mint leaves or lemon slices.

Prepare hearty soups and hot teas: Having a bowl of a hearty soup or a cup of green tea will alleviate symptoms of dehydration and also keep you warm during winter.
