Keir Starmer Vows National Renewal as UK PM

Keir Starmer became UK's new Prime Minister following a landslide victory for his centre-left Labour party, ending 14 years of Conservative rule.

He emphasized immediate action for change and national renewal in his statements outside Downing Street.

Upon entering Downing Street, Starmer pledged urgent action to restore the country's fortunes.

After accepting King Charles III's request to form a government, Starmer declared, "The work of change begins immediately, we will rebuild Britain."

Starmer affirmed, "Our country has decisively voted for change, national renewal, and a return of politics to public service."

Starmer acknowledged Rishi Sunak's historic tenure as the first British-Asian Prime Minister, praising Sunak's dedication and leadership.

"His (Rishi Sunak) achievement as the first British-Asian prime minister of our country, the extra effort that that will have required, should not be underestimated by anyone," Starmer said.

"We pay tribute to that today. We also recognise the dedication and hard work he brought to his leadership," Starmer added.
