King Charles III diagnosed with cancer

Britain’s King Charles III, 75, has been diagnosed with a form of cancer, Buckingham Palace announced on February 5.

Buckingham Palace said the King "remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible".

King Charles III will postpone his public engagements and other senior royals are expected to stand in for him during his treatment.

King Charles assumed the throne on September 8, 2022, following the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth.

In an official statement, Buckingham Palace said, “During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.”
