For A Case, Ends Up
Getting Fired
A 29-year-old lawyer in Colorado, US, lost his job after he used ChatGPT for work.
Zachariah Crabill was stressed due to extra workload at the office.
To meet deadlines, he used ChatGPT as a research tool.
Next, he even used it to support a motion he had written for a case.
ChatGPT created fake lawsuit citations, and he forgot to proofread AI’s response.
He submitted the motion at the Colorado court, but then things turned sour.
He admitted to the judge that he had used ChatGPT to help bolster the motion document.
Later, he was fired from his job at Baker Law group.
However, he still uses ChatGPT, and believes it makes lawyers more productive.
