Two Samajwadi Party candidates - Pushpendra Saroj and Priya Saroj - became the youngest to win the Lok Sabha polls, while DMK's T.R.Baalu became the oldest candidate to register victory.
Eleven candidates over 80 and 537 between 25-30 contested the Lok Sabha elections.
At 25, Pushpendra Saroj from Samajwadi Party became one of the youngest winners in the Lok Sabha polls.
He won against BJP’s Vinod Kumar Sonkar with a margin of 1,03,944 votes in Kaushambi constituency and secured 5,09,787 votes in total.
Priya Saroj, also 25 and from Samajwadi Party, marked her victory in the Lok Sabha elections.
She emerged victorious against BJP’s Bholanath (B.P.Saroj) in Machhlishahr constituency and amassed a total of 451292 votes.
Shambhavi Choudhary, also 25 and from LJP (Ram Vilas), marked her victory in the Lok Sabha elections from Bihar’s Samastipur constituency.
She won against Congress’ Sunny Hazari with a margin of 1,87,251 votes and amassed a total of 5,79,786 votes.
At 25, Sanjana Jatav from Congress became one of the youngest winners in the Lok Sabha polls and amassed a total of 5,79,890 votes.
She emerged victorious against BJP’s Ramswaroop Koli with a margin of 51,983 votes. She managed to secure 51.18% of votes in her constituency.
T.R.Baalu, at 82, from DMK, became the oldest candidate to register a victory. A six-time MP, Baalu will be the oldest member of the Lok Sabha.
He won against G Premkumar, securing 7,58,611 votes in total, including 2,940 postal votes.
