KKR earlier tasted success in 2012 and 2014 under the captaincy of Gautam Gambhir.
Interestingly, KKR also won their first IPL at Chepauk.
KKR notched a five-wicket win against home side, CSK, in 2012.
Manvinder Bisla and Jaques Kallis led the scoring charts for the Gambhir-led side.
The duo stitched a 136-run partnership as KKR completed a 192-run chase in 19.3 overs.
In 2014, KKR got the better of PBKS in a high-scoring final in Bengaluru.
Manish Pandey stole the show with a match-deciding 94-run knock.
On the back of his boundary-laden innings, KKR notched a three-wicket victory to claim the second title.
