Manika Batra Creates Table Tennis History At Paris Olympics

Manika Batra has scripted history in her third Olympics appearance in Paris. 

The table tennis star has reached the Round of 16 in women’s singles.

The 29-year-old secured a 4-0 win over world No. 18 Prithika Pavade.

Manika is India’s first table tennis player to qualify for the singles pre-quarterfinals.

Zhu Chengzhu or Miu Hirano will be her opponent in the next round.

Manika beat Great Britain’s Anna Hursey 4-1 to make it to the Round of 32.

Manika made her Olympic debut in Rio at the age of 21.

She crashed out of the Round of 32 at the last Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Manika claimed the women’s singles gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

With Sharath Kamal, Manika won a mixed doubles bronze at the 2018 Asiad.
