Market at close: Nifty hit one-month low, Sensex turns negative for 2024

Nifty gives up 21,900 to end at a one-month low.

Market remains weak, 

More than 40 Nifty stocks slip,

Sensex slips 1% to turn negative for 2024.

IT & FMCG stocks drag Nifty the most.

IT, Media & Pharma top losing indices.

All sectoral indices close with cuts,

Sensex falls 736 points to 72,012 & Nifty 238 points to 21,817.

Market breadth continues to favour declines,

Midcap Index drops 575 points to 45,926.

Nifty Bank slips 191 points to 46,389,

 following ₹9,000 crore block deal.

TCS posts biggest single-day fall in 2 years,

 slip in the range of 3-4%.

Oil marketing companies remain weak tracking rise in crude,

see heavy selling, stock down 4%.

City gas companies, especially Gujarat Gas,

Indus Towers falls up to 5% on reports of promoter share sale.

Bajaj Auto, Bajaj Fin & Eicher gain in a weak trading session.

 MRF down 3%.

Tyre stocks too see a selling on ‘cautious’ brokerage call, 

top midcap losers.
