In the latest incident of gun violence in the US, 7 people were injured & hospitalised after a scuffle led to a mass shooting in downtown Orlando, Florida.

The US has seen at least 381 mass shootings this year.

August 1: 7 people were injured in a mass shooting incident at an apartment complex in the northeastern part of Washington DC.

June 5: Three people were killed and at least 14 others injured after a mass shooting in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

May 14: 10 were shot dead and 3 were injured. Authorities described this as a “racially motivated violent extremism.”

May 24: An assailant opened fire at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde town, Texas, about 134 km from San Antonio.

US President Joe Biden called for a ban on assault weapons to protect children and families or raising the age to purchase them from 18 to 21.
