Meet Nag Ashwin, Director Of Kalki 2898 AD Shattering All Box Office Records

Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD has minted over Rs 500 crore globally in its opening weekend.

The widely loved film hit the theatres on June 27.

Kalki 2898 AD is a post-apocalyptic film inspired by Hindu epic Mahabharata.

Ashwin is considered one of the most talented directors in Telugu cinema.

He earned his Bachelor's in Mass Communication from Manipal Institute of Communication.

Ashwin then went to the New York Film Academy.

He started as an assistant director for the films like Nenu Meeku Telusa...?, Leader and Life Is Beautiful.

Ashwin’s directorial debut was the 2015 philosophical drama Yevade Subramanyam.

In 2018, he directed Mahanati, a biopic of actress Savitri.

Mahanti became the highest-grossing female-led South Indian film, earning Ashwin a Filmfare Award.

He has also directed a segment in the 2021 Netflix anthology Pitta Kathalu.
