Mercedes-Benz has introduced its new Mythos sub-brand, featuring exclusive, high-priced models. This sub-brand aims to cater to the most dedicated Mercedes enthusiasts.
Ahead of the 2024 Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix, Mercedes-AMG revealed the first car under the Mythos series, the PureSpeed concept. The launch occurred during the event's build-up.
The Mythos PureSpeed is a two-seat speedster based on the latest SL Roadster. The car features significant design changes, including a tiny aero screen instead of a windshield.
The PureSpeed incorporates an F1-inspired halo-like rollover protection. This replaces the conventional windscreen and protects the driver's head in case of an accident.
The car boasts a shark-inspired front end, omitting the traditional AMG grille. This design is unique to the Mythos PureSpeed, setting it apart from other models.
The PureSpeed’s livery pays homage to the Mercedes that won the 1924 Targa Florio in Sicily. The car features a red-to-grey fade and the number 10, referencing the historic victory.
Mercedes-AMG will produce only 250 units of the PureSpeed. The car will be available exclusively to the most dedicated Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts and collectors.
Mercedes has yet to confirm the PureSpeed's powertrain details. However, it is expected to feature the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 from the SL 63 4Matic+.
The PureSpeed includes flying buttresses inspired by the 1955 Mille Miglia-winning 300 SLR. This adds to the vehicle's distinctive and exclusive design elements.
Deliveries of the Mercedes-AMG Mythos PureSpeed are set to commence next year. The car embodies the pinnacle of exclusivity from Mercedes-Benz
