Microsoft Ends Free Windows 11 Update

Microsoft has confirmed that the free Windows 11 update option is no longer available.

Old Windows versions were upgradeable to Windows 11 using their old activation keys.

But now Windows 7 or 8 users have to buy the Windows 11 key to upgrade their PCs.

Microsoft has said the Windows 7 keys are blocked from letting users install Windows 11 for free.

You need this key to activate the Windows version and also register the device to Microsoft's database.

People were able to install Windows 11 for free, as long as their Windows PC was compatible with the new version.

Those who have already used the old Windows key to install Windows 11 have nothing to worry about.

The decision to end free Windows 11 upgrade suggests Microsoft is now satisfied with number of PCs running the new version.

Microsoft earlier informed that Windows 11 will only work on PCs that are TPM 2.0 enabled.
