Mizoram Elections 2023: The youngest and the oldest chief minsters of the state

As Mizoram votes in the 2023 Assembly election, we take a look at the youngest and oldest CMs who have served the state
Mizoram has had five chief ministers from four political parties since 1972, with C Chhunga being the first.
Incumbent CM Zoramthanga of the Mizo National Front, 79, is the oldest chief minister in both the state and India at present. He is the fifth chief minister of Mizoram.
Zoramthanga was born on 13 July, 1944, and started his tenure at the age of 54 on 3 December, 1998.
Lal Thanhawla of the Indian National Congress holds the title of the state's youngest chief minister to date, taking office at the age of 46.
Lal Thanhawla, who is 85 years old now, was born on 19 May, 1938. He first became chief minister on 5 May 1984.
With more than 21 years in power and five terms, Lal Thanhawla also owns the record for the longest tenure.
Lal Thanhawla was elected to the Mizoram Legislative Assembly nine times from his electoral constituencies of Serchhip and Hrangturzo.
