Mo Bobat - RCB's New Director of Cricket

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has appointed Mo Bobat as the Director of Cricket, ahead of 2024 Indian Premiere League (IPL).

He has been with the ECB for 12 years, and as the Performance Director since 2019. During then, he has been a revolutionary figure for team England.

Bobat (40) has previously collaborated with RCB in a consulting capacity, and shares a longstanding association with RCB head coach Andy Flower.

Bobat and Flower have previously worked together with England, and now, coming together once again, they will look to recreate glorious days at RCB.

Talking about the appointment, Prathmesh Mishra, Chairman of RCB, said: “With the expertise and years of experience, he (Bobat)  will guide RCB to newer horizons and excellence.”

“I’m both excited and proud to be joining RCB as Director of Cricket," Mo Bobat said. "To serve them will be a huge honour," he added.

Bobat is joining the franchise with a positive mindset. He said, “I’m really looking forward to working closely with Andy Flower, somebody I know well, to take on the baton and deliver the success that RCB craves."

With Bobat's appointment, RCB has assembled an entirely international backroom team, featuring Flower, Adam Griffith (bowling), Freddie Wilde (analyst), and Evan Speechly (physio).

As per Bobat, he and Flower are relishing the challenges ahead, and looking forward to helping skipper Faf du Plessis and the rest of the team to fulfil their potential.

RCB is poised to enter a fresh era in the 17th edition of IPL, under Bobat's leadership, driven by a dedication to achieving excellence both on and off the cricket field.
