Mohammed Shami is set to make a comeback to competitive cricket.
The pacer has been out of action since the 2023 ODI World Cup final.
He underwent ankle surgery in the UK in February this year.
Shami will represent Bengal in the upcoming Ranji Trophy, as per PTI.
He may compete in either one or both of Bengal’s first two matches.
Shami is likely to feature in the opening away match against UP.
He may also play the next game against Bihar in Kolkata.
There will be a two-day gap between both fixtures.
Shami has already started his RTP (Return to Play) routines at NCA in Bengaluru.
He aims to become fully fit ahead of the five-match Test series against Australia.
