The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that the southwest monsoon will hit Kerala on May 31, with a model error margin of ±4 days. This marks the official onset of the monsoon season in India.

Delhi is currently experiencing severe heatwave conditions. Although no official date has been announced, reports suggest that the monsoon is likely to reach the national capital around June 27, bringing much-needed relief from the extreme heat.

Monsoon rains are expected to begin in Mumbai around June 10-11. Typically, the monsoon arrives on June 11, but it was delayed last year due to Cyclone Biparjoy.

West Bengal, still recovering from the effects of Cyclone Remal, expects the monsoon to arrive between June 10 and 29. According to the head of RMC Kolkata, the monsoon's arrival in South Bengal can be predicted about 10 days after it hits Kerala.

The IMD predicts that the monsoon will reach Bengaluru by June 13 or 14. Rainfall in Karnataka is expected to start in the first week of June, with the monsoon reaching the state's coast by June 6 or 7.
