MS Dhoni's IPL 'Retirement Drama' Compared To Dinesh Karthik's Quiet Farewell With Guard of Honour From RCB

Dinesh Karthik likely ended his IPL career after RCB's four-wicket loss to RR in the Eliminator match on Wednesday (May 22).

Karthik, visibly emotional, bid farewell to RCB teammates and fans, sharing a warm hug with Virat Kohli.

As DK made his way back to the dressing room, he was given a guard of honour by his RCB teammates.

The 38-year-old took off his gloves and waved to the crowd at Narendra Modi Stadium, signaling his departure from IPL.

After this, critics of MSD took to social media, comparing Karthik's graceful, quiet exit to Dhoni's rumored retirement.

Taking an indirect dig at Dhoni, a fan wrote on X, “No old age drama, never did retirement drama for attention, never hiding behind others in tough situations.” There are a lot of similar posts on X.

Dhoni, speculated to retire after leading CSK to their fifth title last season, chose to continue for another year.

A lap of honor for Dhoni and his teammates at CSK's final home game of IPL 2024 hinted at Dhoni's possible last match.

However, the 42-year-old hasn't officially announced his retirement yet.
