IPL Governing Council announced the IPL 2025 retention rules bringing back the uncapped player policy.

Franchises can now retain an Indian international player as uncapped with a fee of maximum Rs 4 crore.

Any Indian international player with last appearance over 5 years ago is classified uncapped
