Nearly 77% of tall buildings in India are located in Mumbai, as per CBRE South Asia data 

Mumbai is followed by Hyderabad with 8%, Kolkata with 7%, Noida with 5%, and a smaller percentage of 1% each in Gurgaon, Bangalore, and Chennai in terms of tall buildings measuring 150 meters and above.

Mumbai ranks 8th globally with over 100 skyscrapers, while Hong Kong leads with 657 tall buildings. Shenzhen follows closely with 510 buildings, and New York features 421, Dubai 395, Guangzhou 254, Shanghai 250, and Tokyo 200 tall buildings.

Construction of tall buildings in India gained momentum after the year 2000. In 2021, the country witnessed the highest number of construction projects for tall buildings.
